Project 52: embodiment of a promise

Week #5
of our 2012 Project 52*
(*give or take a week here and there for vacations)

Our February theme is "devotion."

I remember having a conversation with a friend back in grad school about the essence of engagement and/or wedding rings as the "embodiment of a promise."  (upsound: sappy love song)

Whatever your "wedding set" is composed of - be it a simple silver or gold band band or a " Real Housewife of Beverly Hills" major rock + blinged out band - I always view it as the symbol of a promise.  Love, honor, cherish - the whole nine yards.  So, when this month's theme came up - my first choice for depicting the theme of "devotion" would be the wedding set.

I still get sentimental at the sight of mine.  I love seeing what others have chosen to embody their promises (and honey, I've seen some major rocks out there). I still remember how my grandmother wore her wedding ring long after my grandfather passed on.  They were married 50+ years and she outlived him by a good 10 years.  Now, that is devotion.

Just thought I'd share.
Have a great weekend, y'all!
