summer at the lake, 2011 edition

Week #31
of our 2011 Project 52*
(*give or take a week here and there for vacations)
This month's theme is...water!

You should know by now that, I gravitate towards bodies of water whenever I need to get in touch my with inner self.  The best part of living in the San Francisco Bay Area is that one is never really that far from a body of water.

In 2010, we ventured as far as South Lake Tahoe.  This year, we re-discovered Lake Berryessa.

These pictures don't do the Lake justice.  The color of the water varies depending on where you stand.

Turqouise, aquamarine, slate blue are some of the colors that come to mind.

So, while the hunk and the kiddos geared up for a dip in the lake, I found just the perfect spot to pitch my chair.

I had a nice view of the lake and the area where the Hunk and our babies were playing (wading is more like it).

I spent a good part of the afternoon people watching.  At some point, I went over to my babies to...er, test the waters, which were cold by the way.

After satisfying my curiosity, I went back to my prime spot and just relaxed.  Forgot about the stress at work and was totally present in the moment.  exhale.

The nice thing about this trip was that the beach was not crowded at all.  We had lots of shaded picnic tables to choose from.  There were no entrance fees, and life vests were free to rent (we brought our own though).

Got down to business with my magazines and the latest Julia Quinn paperback.  This was just what the doctor recommended for an overtired and cranky mama.

Life's simple pleasures.
