Week #13
of our 2011 Project 52*
(*give or take a week here and there for vacations)

For 2011, our photography projects will be based on a monthly theme.  This month's theme is... what else? Vintage!

I've been feeling a bit nostalgic lately.  Finding solace in old, soft quilts, worn out ("holey") t-shirts, and frayed yoga pants.  Ah, the comforts of home.  The safe haven of a less complicated life.

In terms of this week's photography project, I wanted soft muted effects. Something faded. Blurry. Warm.

When the rains finally stopped, and we had the chance to venture out into our backyard, we saw that our tulips had not only broken ground, but are also showcasing these beautiful blooms.  The perfect subject for the vintage flowers I had in mind.

To give the photos a "soft focus" effect, I added a few layers of texture (Mad Love and Golden from Kim Klassen).  That's it.

Here's looking forward to a mellow and relaxing weekend!
