My dearest friend F is turning 20 this month.
To commemorate the momentous occasion, I asked F to impart some wisdom acquired throughout the 20 or so years she's roamed Planet Earth with the following question:
What's something you know now that you didn't know when you were 18 years old?
This is her provocative reply:
Spoken like a true Radio and Television grad.1. That I DO need math and algebra skills.2. I'm the only one who can define my success.3. To trust my instincts more.4. I am my own advocate.5. Being "in-love" means needing to use my brain more, then see #3.6. The word "no" is ok.7. I may never know what I want to do when I grow up, and I'm fine with it.8. Multi-tasking is overrated.9. Well-placed three-point lighting is the basis of a good screen image.
In case I haven't mentioned it yet, you're my style guru. I live vicariously through you. And, most importantly, you have been a continuous source of inspiration.
