shallow depth of field

Week #23
of our 52-week photography projects.

I recently came across an anonymous quote which went something like this:

is not a life without troubles, or
the absence of suffering or stress.
Peace is having a calm heart
amidst all of these things.

The quote really has nothing to do with this post,
but I wanted to share it with you.

That is, after all, what this blog is about.

I love taking pictures with a limited focal point.
Typically with just a small area that is in focus.

I think it adds an interesting dimension to the photo by creating a shallower depth of field.

A small flower comes to life.
And the rest is muted.

Peace amidst the chaos.

Taken with a 50mm f/1.8 lens
ISO 400
plus a little Photoshop action (PW Seventies at 40%)

Happy weekend, folks!
