toys for the big boys

In the middle of an abandoned naval base, and along a crumbling asphalt road, they would step out of their trucks and cars, carrying one of these remote-controlled helicopters.

These are definitely toys for the big boys.

No two were alike.  Some bigger than the others, and had realistic effects.  I can imagine this one being used on the set of an action movie.

We only planned to stop for 15 minutes just to see what it was all about.  We ended up staying for more than an hour.  Thanks to HH for taking these pictures.  I stayed inside the car.

It was interesting to see what the choppers could do.  Fly sideways and upside down.

Land, and then, take off again.

The detail on each one was so realistic.

If I didn't tell you that these were about 1/100 (?) of the size of an actual helicopter, you would likely think they are the real deal.  And, expect the pilot to open the door and walk away from the helicopter.

Yes, this is what those grown men were up to that fine Saturday morning.  They were so focused on the stunts their choppers were doing, I couldn't help but wish (hope!) that they devoted the same kind of attention to their house chores, or wives, or families... the list goes on.

Boy and their toys.  Or should I say, toys and their boys?

Luv,
Lease
