Valentine's gift idea: charming jewelry

Many years ago, the hunky hunk of burning love gifted me with a necklace that had a small gold charm, and a wire wrapped semi-precious stone.   I loved it!  I also loved him more for it.  Not that I am materialistic or anything like that. Oh no, not I.  I do it my way.

So, if you are inclined to give jewelry this Valentine's or for that special occasion, I beseech you to at least make it personal.  Add a birthstone.  Commemorate a special milestone with a small charm, if you will.  Believe you me, "charms" are the way to go.

Here are a few websites that we (or others close to our heart) have tried:

Option #1
Viv and Ingrid

My sister-in-law received this as a Christmas present (lucky lady!).

I will admit to having "window shopped" at Viv and Ingrid since the holidays.  I am convinced that I will find a reason to justify placing an order soon enough.  (hint-hint!)

Option #2
The Sundance Catalog

The Sundance Catalog is a personal favorite.

Don't let the simple packaging deceive you.  I have been on the receiving end of many wonderful trinkets from this wonderland.

Hubby knows this is the place to shop for jewelry for yours truly.   Here is a recent acquisition in the interest of research.  Yes, that's my story, and I am sticking with it.  I want my lawyer present for any further inquiries.

I love that the metal is brushed or has a satin texture.  The peace sign is also a charm du jour.  I've seen a lot of jewelry and clothing with the peace sign.  Yes.  Let's.  Give peace a chance.  Please.

The Sundance Catalog also has a wide selection of charms (different metals, stones, quotes) if you want to create a specific look instead of buying a specific combination like the one shown above.

Option #3
Stella and Dot

I recently discovered Stella and Dot when a co-worker invited me to a trunk show.  I've been trying to avoid any further trunk shows in the interest of saving my sanity and retirement fund.  Once you've checked out the website you'll understand.  Everything is too darned pretty.

I have loved everything I have ordered so far.  Their prices are reasonable.  Before you know it, you have to work into your 70s instead of retiring at 65.  That's how bad it can get.  Or, good. Depending on how you view the situation.
And, the packaging?  Cute!

What I love is that you can pick from several charm choices to create the perfect necklace (or bangle bracelet!) for your significant other.

Just pick the base (necklace or bracelet; silver or gold), then add the charms of your choice.  Believe me when I say, you can create almost anything that would be relevant to a child, teenager, yourself, and even your mother-in-law.  They even have items for men!

And, here is a little something I ordered in the interest of research.  A purely selfless act on my part.  I did it all for you.  Yeah, I took one for the team.

Of course, we deserve it!

For Valentine's, or for a special occasion?  Or, "just because."  Whether it be for a significant other or for yourself, whatever your reasons (or non-reasons) are - I won't judge 'ya.

Happy shopping!

Luv,
Lease
