all you need is love

As I was taking my 15-minute break one tedious and challenging day, I happened to see this fella all by his lonesome enjoying the view of the bay.  I quickly ran back to my office to pick up my camera, and was lucky enough to capture what I would like call a "love story."

He was chirping away for a couple of minutes.  Note that there were no other birds nearby or on the horizon.  Seemed to me that he was enjoying his solitude.  He was content.

He was also very fastidious about his hygiene.  Brushing underneath wings.  I have never seen a bird so focused on this ritual.  Maybe in his former life, he was a cat?

This went on for about a good minute or two.  He was busy cleaning, or what I perceived to be the cleansing ritual. Why?

I turned my attention to the bay and its calming waters, and when I looked back at the fella, he was no longer alone.

Hello!

Hhmmm.  The plot thickens.

Did he know?  Was he expecting company?
Look at them.  It was as if they were trying to be oblivious to one another.
Come on! We're all adults here.

You could have fooled me.
Of all the branches on that tree, she picked the very one he was perched on.
I wasn't born yesterday, you guys.
I know what this is all about.
It's okay.  Totally fine.
No one is judging, or being judged.
To each, his own.

And, as I headed back to my office, I took one last look back, and they were both still there on top of the tree.  Still on the same branch.  Trying to seem casual, unaffected, if that.

All I can say is... four 'wise' men once said:  "all you need is love..."

Please celebrate life, love, and everything in between.  Amen.

Happy Valentine's Weekend, y'all!

Luv,
Lease
