a celebration, part I

A family dinner for the November babies.

I wanted to say that I cooked all of the food for the dinner.  But as you will see from the following pictures, there is no way I could have cooked any (or all) of these dishes.

Here we go:

Appetizers.
Lumpia + ham and cheese sticks + shrimp sticks

Soup.
Sinigang (Sour) soup with vegetables, corned beef and pork

The corned beef (beef brisket marinated in brine) added an extra layer of flavor to the soup.
Very interesting.

Beef Steak.
Thinly sliced rib eye steak.
With potato chips.
Who would have thought that this would work?
Brilliant!

Grilled Fish
(stuffed wtih onions, tomatoes, other healthy stuff)

Noodles with Chinese Sausage, Shrimp and Pork

Seafood Paella.
With mussels, shrimp, and squid.

In case you need another look.
This was soooooo yummy.

Just the right amount of seafood.
And, the rice was very moist and flavorful.

Plantain Bananas (is that redundant?) in puff pastry.
And, coconut ice cream.

The ice cream had a frozen chocolate bottom.
In our family, a party is not complete without ice cream.

And, just when we thought we were good for the evening, they brought this out to our table.
Bibingka Souffle with coconut ice cream!

With salted egg.
And, condensed milk.
Just because we needed more sugar in our life.

Friends, family, and great food.
Our recipe for the perfect celebration of life on planet earth.

Happy weekend everyone!

Luv,
The November babies.

postscript - stay tuned for part 2 next week.
