{lavender fields, forever}

I got home from work the other day and thought about what activities I could do with the kids...

Hhhmmm... What to do?

*twiddling thumbs*...

a load of laundry? watch a video? surf the internet? Or...

my normal routine? a load of laundry while watching a video, and surfing the internet?

No, thank you. Not today.

Because I have a lot of baggage in my life (both physical and emotional; but mostly the latter; no, more of the former...oh, well, BOTH then. I have a lot of baggage, period), I decided to take a nice leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. At least, as nice and leisurely as it can possibly get with an 8-year old on a bike and a 2-year old in a stroller.

Whoever designed the landscaping in our community should be given the Nobel prize for hindsight...The landscaping company lined most of the winding trails and paths with little pockets of.....guess what?

lavender...!

Did they know that there would be many, many tired and harassed parents taking their (cabin-feverish) kids out on a stroll along these paths?

They must have known that, in the summer, these lavender plants would give off the most soothing scent as you walked by...

They must have known that little kids would stop in wonder as they watched little bees buzzing around the flowers...

Or, that the kids themselves would stop every so often to breathe in the sweet lavender scent...

And, that by the end of the short walk along the beaten trail, mama would be a little relaxed. Some of the baggage left at the concierge...for now. *exhale*

Thanks for listening,
Lease
